Patient Account Representative (Full-time)

This position is responsible for patient account management and ensuring appropriate and timely reimbursement for medical services rendered. This includes in-person and electronic/telephone communication with patients, physicians, and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • – Proactively monitor patient accounts for payments due to COSM for medical services provided, including oversight of Phreesia collections and balances owed

  • – Proactive chart prep/review and coordinate with our front desk operations to ensure accounts are flagged and collected at check-in (i.e. Self-Pay collections for procedures)

  • – Partnering with staff to manage our patient pricer software for providing estimates to patients at the time of scheduling services with COSM

  • – Determine copay responsibility and coordination of benefits and communicate directly with patients as required

  • – Take inbound calls related to insurance and payment questions from patients, physicians, and payers

  • – Liaison with billing company for patient billing calls/issues

  • – Provide prompt and accurate information to patients with a focus on exceptional customer service

  • – Assist patients with financial options and set-up payment arrangements

  • – Communicate patient account information to the appropriate staff for collection purposes

  • – Assist with wind down of the collection and posting of patient accounts from Intergy System and repayment of any refunds due

  • – Communicate and educate patients regarding their accounts in a professional and ethical manner

  • – Assist with COSM efforts for efficient contract payment management

  • – Update demographic and/or insurance information on accounts
