Dr. Crites is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, specializing in general orthopaedics, sports medicine, knee and shoulder arthroscopy, and knee reconstruction.
An Indiana native, Dr. Crites earned his bachelor’s degree at Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana, and his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He completed his residency and general surgery/orthopaedic surgery internship at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and an adult reconstructive surgery fellowship at the Center for Hip and Knee Surgery in Indianapolis.
He went on to complete a subsequent fellowship program in sports medicine at the University of Maryland in College Park, during which he provided medical care for the Baltimore Ravens. After his fellowship, he was hired as the head team physician for the University of Maryland and the team orthopaedist for the Baltimore Ravens. Today, Dr. Crites continues his passion in caring for athletes in his work at Capital Orthopaedics, acting as one of the team physicians for the Iowa Wolves, Iowa Wild, multiple area high schools, and Graceland University in Lamoni.
