Dr. Todd Peterson was born and grew up in Des Moines Iowa with his two brothers. He attended Des Moines Christian school and Roosevelt. He attended Bethel University in St. Paul Minnesota where he played golf and hockey. He then moved back to Des Moines to complete medical school at DMU and got married to his amazing wife Melanie. He then moved to Detroit Michigan to start his orthopedic training at Michigan State University. After moving to Springfield Illinois for one year to complete his fellowship, he returned to Des Moines to be close to family and lifelong friends.
Dr. Peterson is highly experienced in hip, knee, shoulder, elbow, ankle, and hand surgery, and values educating his patients and spending time with them. He also values education to students and fellow surgeons and is part of the Faculty of Specialty Medicine at Des Moines University. He also lectures locally and nationally about Orthopedic topics. In his free time he attends church and spends time with his two young daughters and his son.
