Erica Tucker, PA-C

Erica is a Des Moines native who joined Capital Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in 2025. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology & Health from Iowa State University and a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Des Moines University.

Before becoming a physician assistant, Erica spent over eight years working as a paramedic, gaining extensive experience in emergency and pre-hospital medicine. This experience enhanced her clinical judgment and adaptability, while emphasizing the value of compassionate, collaborative care and attentiveness to patient needs.

In her current role, Erica provides care to patients in the clinic and assists in surgical procedures, helping patients return to their daily routines and the activities they enjoy most. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, staying active, and being outdoors.
