Dr. Jacobson is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, specializing in arthroscopic surgery for the knee and shoulder. He also focuses on cartilage restoration for the knee.
Dr. Jacobson earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa. After medical school, he completed an internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pennsylvania, and a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Minnesota Sports Medicine Clinic in Minneapolis. During his fellowship, Dr. Jacobson worked with team physicians for the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Minnesota Twins. He continues his passion caring for athletes, leading Capital Orthopaedics as the team physicians for the Iowa Wild and Iowa Wolves, in addition to multiple high schools in the greater Des Moines area.
Active in the industry, Dr. Jacobson maintains memberships with the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine, American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and Iowa Orthopaedic Society.
